In late June suspended loans to 24,000 households for 3.2 billion

Between February and June 2010, banks had outstanding loans of 3.2 billion euros to about 24 thousand families. The initiative is the minimum to which banks can participate, subject to the full freedom of each institution to offer customers better terms than provided in the Agreement. To date 172 banks have offered conditions for improvement, representing 64% of the market. The Plan started on 1 February, and customers may submit a request to activate the suspension until January 31, 2011, with reference to events that occurred from January 2009 to December 31, 2010.
